Khaled’s 2019 Automechanika Dubai Academy Key Speaker presentations
A standardised approach to assessment – July 11 2019
In my first talk for the Automechanika Dubai Academy, I review the assessment experiences made during the Jaguar Land Rover IMI approved Technician Apprenticeship program run in Saudi Arabia, primarily focusing on:
1. The Institute of the Motors Industry’s framework flexibility, credibility, training and practical support in the Middle East.
2. How Internal Quality Assurances provide credibility with manufacturers, government agencies and dealers.
3. The benefits of an independent 3rd party quality assurance provider.
The benefits of training staff to a recognised standard – July 12th 2019
In this second session, I discuss how political, social and economic pressures have stipulated the need to create and develop local automotive experts. Then focus on the influence of International Standards on the required recruiting & development programs to ensure a solid talent pipeline.
Following I explain how we applied the Institute of the Motors Industry competency testing framework in the Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeship. The advantages of international standards in light of recruitment cost, onboarding, and the timeline by which a new team member is fully productive, considering local and international recruitment requirements are highly relevant for KSA. Finally, I weigh the graduates’ quality versus the number of graduates needed to comply with Saudisation regulations.
Send me an email if you are interested in my Automechankia Dubai Academy presentations or want to discuss ether topics. I am more than willing to assist with making your apprenticeship program successful.
