I remember one of my first classes with MCC Lerae Gidyk back in September 2019, where I explored the Coaching Mindset. Now in July 2020, I am a Coach U Core Essential Graduate.
It took me 77 hours of in-class training and many more with learning partners from all around the world, the USA, Germany, UK, Korea, Spain, Greece, Italy, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Africa, Brazil, Canada, and India to name a few. All of this knowledge and training resulted in having Coach U’s Guiding Principles engrained in my coaching approach in particular and in my daily interactions and communication style in general.
A. People have something in common.
We return to the common ground of being by loving, honouring and valuing self and others.
B. People are inquisitive.
Wonder, curiosity and inquiry are the sources of all learning.
C. People contribute.
Contribution based on purpose generates true fulfilment.
D. People grow from connections.
Connection is the wellspring of creativity.
E. People Seek Value.
Listening provides ever-present access to value.
F. People act in their own best interest.
Discernment reveals the opportunities in every situation.
G. People live from their perception.
An inclusive, present-based perception of reality is the platform for effective action.
H. People have a choice.
Awareness is the precursor to choice.
I. People define their own integrity.
The vigilant development of the fit between calling and conduct creates integrity.
I am excited to say that by applying this Coaching Mindset, I serve my clients better and on a far deeper level. This also positively impacts how I engage with my participants in my numerous leadership training sessions. While this is another major milestone in my coaching journey, it will surely not be the last.
Update:
YES, I have enrolled in Coach U’s Professional Essential Program.
